Welcome back, and happy new year! We hope you had an enjoyable Winter Break and were able to rest and reconnect as a family. We are excited to see students back at school and ready to learn.

As we return from break, I want to mention again the importance of regular attendance. The weeks after Winter Break are a key time for building routines and momentum. When students are at school every day and arrive on time, they stay connected to their classmates, keep pace with instruction, and get the full benefit of supports and enrichment. Thank you for making daily attendance a priority whenever possible.

As we move into the month ahead, please note the following schedule reminders:

• No school on Monday, January 19.
• School WILL be in session on Monday, January 26.

This month, students will also participate in two key check-ins that help us support learning and well-being:

• Rhithm Screener: Rhithm is a brief, student-friendly screener that helps us check in on students’ social-emotional well-being. The information helps our staff identify students who may benefit from additional support and ensures we are responsive to student needs.
• STAR Assessments (Reading and Math): Students will complete STAR assessments in reading and math. These assessments provide helpful information about current skill levels and growth over time, and they support teachers in planning instruction and small-group supports.
